Song of the Week: “Reveal” by The Wedding

This week’s song is a little harder than my usual song-of-the-week fare, but don’t let that turn you away.  “Reveal” is the fifth song from The Wedding’s excellent EP “The Sound, The Steel”, and while the lyrics in the verses are fairly cryptic, the poetry of the chorus blows me away every time, and the overall message is clear: The Kingdom is on the way, and it’s time for us to stand up, take our side, and fight the darkness.  Plus, the music is just fantastic.  As always, you’ll find the embedded song and lyrics after the page break.  Enjoy!

It’s all done in silence
In the panic of the night
Take a risk, come back to life
Here the darkness meets the light

Before the lighting of the sky
Streets of gold, a horse of white
The Kingdom course was set in stone
Reveal the curtain yet unknown

It’s all done in silence
In the panic of the night
Take a risk, come back to life
Here the darkness meets the light
It’s all done in silence
We’re finally alive
Heed the call, this is the fight
Here the darkness meets the light

This is the turning of a page
Without a sound, without a stage
The pieces come and take their place
The song of a sword, the eyes of flames

It’s all done in silence
In the panic of the night
Take a risk, come back to life
Here the darkness meets the light
It’s all done in silence
We’re finally alive
Heed the call, this is the fight
Here the darkness meets the light

Oh it meets
It meets the light
Oh! It meets the light
we shoulda, we shoulda
the train keeps on rollin’…
