Song of the Week: “Name” by Fireflight

This week’s song is directly inspired by this post by Jon Acuff: The Soft X.  Take a few minutes to read it, then come back and listen to this beautiful, moving tune from Fireflight called “Name”.  This song is for all of you today who are waiting, wondering if God still sees you and why He’s let your dreams slip through the cracks.  Let Him comfort you today with these words, and know that He still sees you, still loves you, and still knows exactly what He’s doing in your life.  No matter what you’re facing, climb into His arms today, pour out your heart to Him, and hear His gentle whisper: “I know, my son, I know”.

“Name” by Fireflight:

Seven days old in the ICU tonight
Little baby boy, they don’t want to have to say goodbye
Mother’s on the phone, Father’s in the hall
Praying, “God save his life”

He sees you, He’s near you
He knows your face, He knows your pain
He sees you, and He loves you
He knows your name
He knows your name

Four doors down there’s a man who just won’t wake up
He crashed so hard and the doctors want to pull the plug
Your wife is by your side, saying, “Not tonight”
Praying God will just show up

He sees you, He’s near you
He knows your face, He knows your pain
He sees you, and He loves you
He knows your name
He knows your name

Maybe you’re alone in the corner of an empty house
Or maybe you’re the one no one notices in the crowd…

He sees you, He’s near you
He knows your face, He knows your pain
He sees you, and He loves you
He knows your name
He knows your name
