Song of the Week: “We Are the Champions” by Queen

This week’s song of the week is in commemoration of all of the champions out there who took part in NaNoWriMo.  To those who won, congratulations!  You’ve done something few have achieved, and you should be proud.  To those who began and didn’t quite reach the end, know this: however many words you wrote this month, you gave your all to something big, hard, and scary, and I salute you.  Not everyone is willing to take a risk and try something crazy, but you did, and I hope that this month was as incredible for all of you as it was for me.  Take some time and bask in the stupendously uplifting sounds of “We Are the Champions”, and maybe even sing along.  Because, you know what?  We are.

Here’s the link: “We Are the Champions”

And here are the lyrics:

I’ve paid my dues
Time after time
I’ve done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I’ve made a few
I’ve had my share of sand kicked in my face
But I’ve come through

We are the champions my friends
And we’ll keep on fighting till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
‘Cause we are the champions of the world

I’ve taken my bows
And my curtain calls
You brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it
I thank you all
But it’s been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race
And I ain’t gonna lose

We are the champions my friends
And we’ll keep on fighting till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
‘Cause we are the champions of the world
